I started Pilates over 10 years ago when I was struggling with work related stress and needed some time for myself. After going to classes regularly I started to feel like I could cope better with stressful situations. The exercises helped me gain body awareness; and taught me to breathe properly which made such a difference to reducing my anxiety.
Over time I noticed positive changes in my posture - I was now standing tall and had improved flexibility - I was always someone who couldn't touch my toes! When I missed a session, I noticed it in my body which helped motivate me to attend weekly classes and reap the benefits.
My love of the exercises inspired me to train as a teacher with Body Control Pilates. I believe that everyone can benefit from Pilates, and my aim is to pass on what I’ve learnt so people can feel better physically and emotionally.
Sophie is fully insured and holds a CPR first aid certification. She is a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) and the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA) and is bound by their respective Code of Practice.
