Group Classes: Learn the Basics, Get Moving, feel your practice Flow!
Introducing our "Basics", "Move" and "Flow" format of classes, for Beginners to Improvers to Intermediate clients
Check out our Workshops too!
Pilates Basics – a slow to moderate paced class suitable for all levels, but a must for Beginner clients. The focus is the ABC’s (alignment, breathing and core stability). You will develop an understanding of good posture and learn how to execute basic movements with precision. Exercises from the original work of Joseph Pilates have been broken down into component parts, the resultant preparation exercises being safe and appropriate for the modern body whilst still being extremely effective. Exercises increase in challenge and complexity through the term to keep you challenged both mentally and physically!
Pilates Move – a moderate paced class that builds upon basic Pilates principles. Ideal for clients with one or more terms of practice at Basic level, plus Improver and Intermediate clients. Exercises include those taught in “Pilates Basics” but with added emphasis on moving! Think more reps, and one exercise moving into another to develop stamina. New exercises will also be introduced to provide a stepping stone for those wishing to later progress towards “Flow” classes.
Pilates Flow – a pacey, flowing class geared towards Improver/Intermediate practitioners who can perform “Move” exercises with ease and precision. Exercises prepare the mind and body for the classical work of Joseph Pilates and broadly follow the format of the "classical mat", but with variations to reflect the modern body. These classes will challenge your stamina, endurance, coordination and concentration. Exercises assume a good level of fitness and flexibility, will include inversions and will take the body through multi-directional planes of movement: please do not book into these classes if you are a Beginner practitioner or have a serious injury
Rise & Shine - Rise and Shine with a Pilates workout, designed to blow the cobwebs away. Exercises will start off slowly and gently, gradually building pace and energy, awakening you and leaving fabulous for the rest of the day!
Healthy Back Course - Healthy Back classes run as part of a course. Attendance is weekly for the duration of the course. Exercises are specifically designed for the management and prevention of chronic low back pain, although the course may also be beneficial if you suffer from shoulder or neck pain. You must not have any acute pain when attending classes. See About Healthy Back for more information. Course attendees need to have completed a Healthy Back questionnaire before attending their first class

To book with My Local Pilates:
All classes must be pre-booked via the Online Booking system. Please see Timetable for the schedule and location. See the Teachers page for our teacher profiles. All Clients must complete and return a Health Questionnaire at least 12 hours before attending the first class. This allows the teacher time to review the form in advance of the class starting, and allows the class to start on time. This can be filled in here and submitted online. Please select the Healthy Back form if you are signing up for a Healthy Back course.
